What are the recommended Widths and Amounts of Pipe Wrap Tape Needed for a Job?

How wide a tape, and what should the overlap be? Check the nominal pipe diameter down the left side and recommended tape width in one of the middle columns. Also included are surface squares per common lengths of pipe of any given diameter, and the number of squares of tape needed for a given pipe size.

Note a common industry practice is to change the standard length of 6” and wider rolls from the longer 100’ to 50 foot rolls. Double check your product before going to the jobsite as many manufacturers vary between 50 and 100 foot standards, regardless of the width.
