This is amazing stuff and at the risk of sounding like Ron Popiel you can truly set it and forget it. Pull this as tightly as you can, wrap around most any surface for any number of applications and it will self-bond to itself. No adhesive needed, it is self-bonding! By the next day it is a gob of bonded rubber that can only be removed by cutting.

This is frequently known as "cockpit tape".  Pilots would sneak this on board and use it to wrap stuff up there. Never having been in a B-52 I can't tell you what they'd wrap but whatever it was this gave them a sure, firm grip.  Sounds pretty intense, trusting a multi-million dollar aircraft to a ten dollar roll of tape. Read more:
